Montie Soules called 237Y the show type and donor cow kind. And indeed, she has been one of our top donors. She is smooth and sharp-fronted with an explosive rib in a sound package that has just the right amount of shape and stoutness. She was our top selection from the Star Lake Cattle Ranch sale in Skiatook, Oklahoma in 2012. She is a full sister to U.S. National Champion Kessey 321L – a cow that is a legend in the Hereford breed based on her powerful progeny. 237Y is out of Star Lake Cattle Ranch’s famous Keysha 949, another powerful, productive cow family of note and dam to the record-selling and one-of-a-kind, Olivia, at the history-making Star Lake Cattle Ranch dispersal sale in 2012, for $175,000. STAR KKH SSF 237Y is the maternal sister to Valedictorian, Bright Kelly, Tymeless and many other breed standouts. She is sired by the seven-time U.S. National Champion Thunder 62J. Gotta want - aka “Miss America” - has brought a lot of cow power to our herd. A granddaughter who was the 2019 Canadian Reserve National Heifer Calf Champion sold in our inaugural VISIONS 2021 sale for $11,000 to Golden Oak Livestock in Alberta. A great-grand-daughter sold for $5,000 as a heifer calf to Emma Falconer in Manitoba. Another granddaughter sold for $4,750 to Mohican West in Montana, USA. A Revolution 4R daughter of 237Y is now in our donor herd. And several other daughters grace our purebred herd.
